Just tested on a fresh 3.054 image, it works like a charm with BassFly!

It is definitely a huge step forward:

  • no problems with updates anymore
  • it should with all sources, including Spotify (not tested yet, it will be the next step)

In fact, you have nothing to do special. On a fresh Volumio buster, just install your plugin (the version I modified). Configure your oled. Thatā€™s it.

DSD Files in buster beta v 3.054
I want to play some dsd files over my nas server but on mu dac it is shown 705.6pcm. When used to work it shows 5.64 DSD . MIxer is set to HW. DSD direct mode enabled. What options do i need to set in order to see DSD on my DAC
mpd oled and pepy plugins disabled.

I use itā€¦ But, in your case, thereā€™s a problem with the volume mixer. So, needs some adjustments

:Volumio version 2.779 (Released: Jun 8 18:35:15 CEST 2020) has reversed functions names for ā€œDSD playback modeā€: ā€œDSD directā€ and ā€œDSD over PCM (DoP)ā€. Personally, I donā€™t mind, but it can be confusing for other Volumio users.ā€™ old thread*
I guess it should be fixed in beta buster version .

Spectrum from mpd oled and meter are not working with DSD files . .
Dop is set because DSD direct and DOP namings are inversed , HW mixer is set

Not sure we can do something for that. Both plugins need PCM to workā€¦ But I may be wrong

I can confirm the plugin modified by @balbuze works fine with all the source Iā€™ve tested
