Volumio Spotify Connect2 plugin not downloading on 2.806

New Upgrade from 2.799
Installed Spotify Connect for Volumio2 - no problems. downloaded and setup user/password settings.
Volumio server not visible to native Spotify app without using Volumio Spotify Connect2 plugin
Trying to install and stalls at 10% download from URL:
http://plugins.volumio.org/plugins/volumio/armhf/music_service/volspotconnect2/volspotconnect2.zip

3 questions:

  1. should I need to install both plugins
  2. which is required if I want to connect with Spotify with their app and Volumio?
  3. is the download not working? worked properly on last release.

There is a problem with downloading. Let me check…

should be ok now

Plugin installation script failed!!
An error occurred while installing the plugin Error

Why don’t you install it from Volumio via the plugin page?
Have you changed the default password?

Looks like the install script failed while fetching the release from github.
It could have been a network glitch - can you try again while tailing logs? (either from the /dev/ page using the Live Log or via console with journalctl -f)

I ended up following the manual installation instructions on the Github site. That all works fine installing to a RPI3B+ using SSH

thanks, here is the full log, looks like it downloads the main package but not the additional required libraries… (I changed http to **** to post this)

Once again, can you tell me why you need to install the plugin using SSH instead of the plugin page of Volumio?

Looks like github is not not playing nice with you -

curl: (7) Failed to connect to github-production-release-asset-2e65be.s3.amazonaws.com port 443: Connection timed out

PS: you can wrap your stuff into code blocks (</> symbol) to format it.

@balbuze Looks like @Aytek_Dorken is downloading it via the plugin installer, but @Travis_Tompkins manually installed it…

sorry missed your comment, I am trying to install from volumio web UI, not using SSH.
I actually don’t know how to install it via SSH.

thanks for the tip :v:

What location are you trying this from?
Are you able to navigate to https://api.github.com/repos/ashthespy/vollibrespot/releases/tags/v0.2.1 from a device on the same network?

If you can get SSH access to your device, can you try running the following command to try and figure out why it’s failing?

curl https://api.github.com/repos/ashthespy/vollibrespot/releases/tags/v0.2.1

I am on the same network with my raspberry pi and I can navigate to the link you provided from my computer.

I will try to SSH to my device. How do I assign the SSH password to volumio?

the default password for volumio is “volumio”

Spotify Connect2 plugin still does not install. Fails every time doesn’t matter if installing from Volumio UI or via SSH. same issue as reported by @Aytek_Dorken.
RPi3b+ running Volumio v2.834.

Could you share some logs?

Either from the /dev page using the livelog feature or via ssh.

Unfortunately, the plugin installer requires root privileges and as you have changed your password it will have trouble as it assumes the password is still the default one…

Yeah I noticed that in the live log. what a bummer. why not simply prompt for password! does the plugin installer support such a function? assuming users will leave password to default is a bad assumption.
