Volumio 3 RC1 - Open Beta Testing

Si. Sólo tengo una sesión.
He reinstalado hoy desde cero, porque esta mañana me estaba dando el mismo problema. Muchas Gracias.

Yes. I only have one session. I have reinstalled today from scratch, because this morning I was getting the same problem. Thank you.

I think you need Superstar subscription, this might be the first thing! If you are, when you click on the multiroom icon you should see a link saying “Group devices” The master is the unit whose interface you are using, other devices will be listed beneath it. You just select “Add” for the ones you want to link and click “Done.” Now whatever you play on the master also plays on the slaves.

And the logs for UI hangs up

And after perform volumio vrestart

I appreciate that you answered my request.
Thanks.

Hi,
I use Volumio 2 latest version on both devices. If I go to the country section, select France and use the stream for FIP it’s looped. All the other FIP channels (Rock, Jazz) in the same tool show all the same problem. Same with these:

http://direct.fipradio.fr/live/fip-hifi.aac

another one not working http://icecast.radiofrance.fr/fip-hifi.aac

I am Superstar user

Those are HLS streams, which unfortunately are not supported in Volumio2, but they are in Volumio3.

I have tried the latest beta but I still get this loop of Volumio continuously restarting as it says that I have updated the configuration. I have the simplest configuration with a pi4 and a USB DAC - no plugins or anything

Have you been able to reproduce? Is it worth uploading the logs again?

Many thanks

However, I was listening to these FIP radio with volumio 2 they worked well!

Hi, I just installed 3 one one of them. Selected the same channel (FIP) and experience the same problem

Thanks, we are looking into it

As a Superstar sub, I find this so frustrating, I have been struggling for days to get multiroom sync to work. Running 3.159 I see both my volumio devices under zones and outputs however when I select “Group Devices” only one shows up. The logic makes no sense to me and unable to sync any devices.

Also, on the display no artist data shows up, shows when I access via HTTP, but not on the devices itself. this worked 2 versions ago. I have reflashed multiple times w/ out success.

Thanks

I also noted the metadata issue and made a comment in this thread.
For me though I have to say the multiroom sync has worked flawlessly since it was first released. Maybe a router restart would help? Do you have a complex network?

They are all on my IOT subnet and have full access to the internet.

Is your subnet blocking Multicast ?
Multiroom requires MDNS whici is a multicast protocol

I have resolved this issue by re-installing volumio to the internal SSD. It took two reinstallation attempts. It looks like the dialog to restart is displayed before all the files are written to the SSD and committed. Waiting a few minutes until there is no read activity on the SD card seemed to be necessary.

Is the imbedded cover art in my Flacs supposed to be visible?
It seems the only cover art that shows is when there is separate cover art file.

Volumio as of now does not show embedded albumarts in files.
It’s on our TODO list for the future

Good news!
We just released what might (fingers crossed) be the last beta.

We did it in a way that you will not have to reflash your device if you participated in this beta release.

Thanks for the great feedbacks! We are almost there …

PS: Release has just been announced for 7th December

ill make this bug report then switch to the latest version, device becomes unresponsive for the “yourdevicenamehere.local”(I believe rest api endpoint “getSystemInfo” breaks itself here aswell) if there was output device selected which is not currently attached to the Volumio and you press play.(This can easily happen with USB dacs, when you move the volumio device around house or so)

  1. Attach USB dac to volumio
  2. Select it as output device
  3. Shutdown volumio
  4. remove USB dac.
  5. Boot volumio
  6. Press play.

I believe this is happening because there is no sensible fallback mechanism in place if the output device is not attached to the volumio after reboot? Which leads in unstable behaviour. This might very well be the root reason for many post’s ive seen in the forums about the device not being able to be reached.
