on what platform is this? Volumio version?
usb audio should have been card5

RPI4 , buster beta version 3.067

Something odd in stream0, under Altset 3, I would have expected to see a line
DSD raw: DOP=0, bitrev=0

Needs to be checked whether relevant…

Hi,
I know that maybe it is not important but kindly pls include a fix in next rpi beta version, if the root cause have been found
Thanks

I switched over to the Raspberry Pi version and there is no DSD DoP weirdness in the settings with the E30. I have not tried the beta. I’m just confirming the issue is definitely with the Intel kernel.

Already tried to explain that it does not work with Volumio 2 x86, it has an ancient kernel which we are not going to fix.
@Lintbf Problems with the RPi beta are not being discussed here, there is a separate section/ topic for that. We are really trying not to have Beta issues scattered all over the forum, the only way to keep track is the proper thread

I have Topping E30 II, Raspberry P3+ and the last version of Volumio. DSD file are shown as PCM.
If connect the dac to a pc with win and Foobar, dsd file are correctly played.
Where is the problem?
Thanks

I also have the same problem on the topping e30ii lite prints pcm and not dsd. I will post pictures so you can see what system it is and what settings I made.

Closed you other topic as we are no fan of cross posting the same issue.

Keep in mind you have a very specific issue, which needs a topping E30II Lite and DSD files. So people in Europe are working and you need someone who can replicate this. I don’t have a topping E30II so you need to have patience.

You are closing other posts on this issue? But:
#1 the problem we are seeing is with E30 II (not E30, and not Lite) and
#2 original issue here has been marked as solved (it is an issue for me and others.

Since you mentioned that you are concerned about specificity should we either #1 create another post specifying “E30 II” or #2 rename this post as such and mark it as unsolved

Considering your reply here indicating your desire for less posts I think #2? Thank you for your time.

I have an E40 ii (not lite) via USB and I am having the same issue where the E30 ii says PCM and not DSD. Steps I have taken to resolve the issue leads me to believe it is an issue with Volumio software version 3.631.

Also, is spotify premium able to output DSD? Perhaps the issue is with my expectation?

Regards,
John

spotify does not provide DSD output, actually no streaming service does

Oh that makes a lot of sense now. Any tips by chance on how to obtain DSD files for Chopin and other classical artists?

there are some websites where you can buy DSD material, but you must download them and store on a local drive

as an example:
