Is it a right thing to do “sudo apt-get update & apt-get upgrade” from ssh conection on volumio 2 system ?
I mean, will it harm the system? Or it is a good idea to be up to date? Or in another word, is it the only correct volumio update through web interface?

Bad idea. The best way to get up to date software is using volumio’s OTA updater

matbe an idea to change the default package repositories so if someonedoes perform such an update, it won’t do anything and does not break Volumio?

And what if someome install additional component, for example MC ( total commander for console), but not doing update/upgrade of whole system?

A sudo apt-get update and sudo apt-get install MC should be ok.

You can install pretty much anything as long as you don’t upgrade , just mc will be fine
