Volumio X86 running on Gigabyte BRIX box with USB 3 hard drive.
I share the USB drive with SAMBA so I can transfer library updates from my main PC using sync software.
SAMBA is very slow doing transfers. < 300 kb/sec.
Are you connected via a wireless or wired connection?
Tried both! Either way is slow and about the same speed.
