[PLUGIN] Radio Paradise

I would like to be able to sign into my Radio Paradise account in this Volumio plugin - this would let me rate songs, just like when I am listening on my computer or phone. And it let me listen to my Favorites - this is a big part of listening to RP.

Another wish would be to be able comment on the RP forums.

I’d also like to rate songs and see the radio Paradise comments

I need to install the RadioParadise Plugin on Volumio Buster and I can’t find the Github repository for it. Can somebody pass it to me?

I’m getting an error message after starting any Radio Paradise FLAC stream. (There’s a problem in {} radio streaming server). The other Radio Paradise streams work ok. The error remains even after re-installing the plug-in. Please advise!

Edwin

An update to V 2.916 cured this issue
Many thx to whomever fixed it !

same here

The message appears only for flac streams. At first also streaming didn’t worked (and also there I got a different error message). Now I get this message (only for flac), but at least (also w/o re-installation) streaming works. What’s strange is that the play button doesn’t looks like something is playing, but it is. And if i click on it (to pause) the music shortly stops, but then it continues.

Hello, my setup is RP 3B+ and a PiFi DAC+ V2.0. VERSION: 2.917. Setup is running well. Listening to Radio Paradise FLAC is great. Very occasionally I like to skip a track. This is not working for me. The stream stops. Pressing play again restarts the stopped track. I am not sure where to begin debugging this. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Hi lately I experience some drop outs with radio paradise.

I am using a RPI 3b+ based streamer and a Topping D90 DAC via i2s.

This is my log: http://logs.volumio.org/volumio/dYNnxAH.html

Best regards,

Simon

Any ideas?

likely it does not help much, but at least I can confirm that there are no issues at my side.

Hi,

I am observing some strange behaviour when playing back Radio Paradise FLAC streams using the RP plugin.
The audio is working fine but the track details and album art being displayed in the Volumio web UI is for the track that was played two previous.

Attached are some screenshots to illustrate as well as confirmation of my Volumio version running on an Rpi 4

The screenshots are of the Volumio web UI showing the details of a Fotheringay track but what I was actually listening to at the time was an Amy Winehose track. The other screenshot shows the Radio Paradise playlist for roughly the same period of time.
Note that I am on UK time hence the time difference. The time display on the web UI screenshot is from a Windows widget
Any feedback appreciated

Thanks

John

I have the same thing.
Well, probably.
The art is out of sync for sure.
I hadn’t worked out it was from two tracks before. How did you find the last ten in the playlist?

I had one a few days ago that showed the same track playing for about 47 minutes.
Might be worth mentioning it, or having a read on the radioparadise forum.

The art seems to be the same on their stream as on volumio.
(I don’t currently have sound on my pc, so don’t know what it is playing.)

You can find what played in the last hour on the main mix here

http://www8.radioparadise.com/rp3-mx.php?n=Playlist

https://www8.radioparadise.com/rp_2a.php
This is from the player

I see a diffence on the site to the player is updated before the playlist is updated (that needs a refresh to show the right one.)

The refreshing is not happening all the time.

The player is also two tracks behind audio that is playing

On the site i’m in sync …

+1 out of sync in the plugin.

Update: I contacted Radio Paradise support describing the symptoms

They have responded stating there was a problem with the European servers they use and that things should now be back to normal which I can confirm
This would also explain why not some were experiencing the problem and others not as it was specific to geography
