Output is always 44.1 kHz, 16-bit on Tidal i.e. no MQA

MQA is really not a good idea for the audio industry or the audiophiles. Read for instance:

Sorry not been very helpful here. I only think that Volumio might not be the best vehicle to transport “evil” MQA to a DAC. May be someone could develop a seperate plugin to decode MQA that will be charged a fee to pay for the MQA license, but it should be kept separate from main stream Volumio.

I kind of see the same with my Allo miniBoss, capable of 384 kHz 32 bit, but the 192 kHz songs from Supertramp on Tidal only show 48 kHz 24 bit (so better than the 44/16) on MyVolumio Virtuoso. I am lost to understand which setting or bottleneck prevents 192 kHz with Volumio/miniBoss/Tidal.

The Allo miniboss is not capable of decoding MQA. It’s all about the MQA format. The Supertramp album you mentioned is presented to the dac via Volumio from Tidal as 24/48 with MQA signaling. If your dac does not know what to do with MQA, it plays the file as 24/48. If you have a dac that does support a full MQA decode, it sees the MQA information in the presented file and performs the further decode, in this case to 24/192.
