No sound at all!

I have a Rasberry Pi 4 and HifiBerry DAC+ pro running Volumio 2.861.
I have added multiple music sources (Spotify, Tidal, NAS library, Web Radio) but nothing plays.
In fact when the press the Play button it takes a few seconds but it never changes to a pause so I’m thinking that the play is not working at all for any of the sources.
Has anybody encountered this before?

I found the log and it’s reporting this …

systemctl start mpd.service
hangs.

Hi, did you do some apt-get upgrade or manually installing stuff?

No, I didn’t try that. I shall have a go. However I managed to get the mpd.service to work after a power cycle, rather than just a software restart. Seems to me that there is a problem with config not be reset properly. I shall have a go at checking what services are candidate for upgrade.

Update apt-upgrade resulted in this error …
