Netgear WNDA3100v2 & Volumio?

Hey guys,
I am trying to install Wifi for my Raspy-Volumio since I moved my router elsewhere, and now I do not have ethernet connection at the place where the Raspy resides
So I still had a Netgear WNDA3100v2 lying around.
When I plug it in, I get
New USB Device Found
Type: Remote Download Wireless Adapter
Manufacturer: Broadcom

… but when I edit the values of the SSID and PW in the volumio WebInterface, it does not seem to connect. In the line where the IP adress should appear, I just get — NO INTERFACE PRESENT —

During Boot, I also get Wlan0 not found…

How can I get this to work?
Thanks in advance!

Hi

sorry to say you’re better off buying a new wifi dongle.

those broadcom chipsets can be a real pain the the butt with linux. Mine is a nice paper weight.

On a x86 processor, you could have used ndiswrapper and windows drivers but with an arm processor it doesn’t exist.

I have a TP-Link WN821N adaptor, works out of the box with the raspberry pi and keeps up with streaming rates of 24/192. Cheap too.

Afraid to say, thats probably the most helpful information i can come up with. Unless someone else knows the answer.

Cheers
