I literally asked this question today as I was shuffling through the Volumio documentation for a custom solution.
Let’s say I want to develop something like a volumio plugin to do X. Now bear with me, let’s say I have little idea of what this would require and that all the programming experience is from school, but the project seems not so complicated.
How does one begin to write a plugin? Where does one look first? What language will it be written in? What do you need to research prior to writing it?
