High pitch noise with Asus Tinkerboard S and ARCAM rDAC

Volumio Information

Volumio Version: 2.779
Hardware: Asus Tinkerboard S
DAC: ARCAM rDAC

I have installed Volumio on a newly bought Tinkerboards S (SD card) and connected it to the USB input of rDAC.

The DAC is recognised by Volumio, but if I select this output device and I play a track (I tried different resolutions and formats) or web radio I get a very loud, high-pitched cracking buzz.
The analog output of tinker board works perfectly.
the rDAC also works with Volumio installed on a RPi 2

Following suggestions on other posts, I have tried to change the resampling parameters, but the problem persisted.

Hi there, I have flashed Volumio on TBS eMMC, but I still get the high pitch noise.

Same setup works perfectly with my OPPO BDP 105 (USB DAC input)
