Hello everyone.
I am very new to the Raspberry Pi but not to technology. I have been in the computer industry for over 30 years. Volumio looks like a perfect app for the Pi. I just ordered a HiFi Berry DAc and can’t wait to get them paired up!
I currently use a PS Audio PerfectWave DAC on my big stereo rig. I am anxious to compare an over $4,000 DAC to a $100 P i/ DAC combo. I do not expect the Pi / DAC combo to outperform the PerfectWave, but by the same token, I don’t expect the Pi / DAC to be embarrassed either. I will likely use the Pi / DAC combo as a node on my network to feed a mid-fi system I have in another room. Who knows though…if the Pi / DAC combo kicks the PerfectWave’s butt (or just matches it) I may just dump that DAC and be an all Pi house.
Time will tell…
