When you download the image for the latest version, the disc image won’t open, it just says it’s corrupted
Please download and flash again, there is nothing wrong with the image. Used by many others (incl. me), works fine
Tried three times, and then again with a different browser, and then on a totally different PC. Always corrupted.
Can someone else try this to confirm? I don’t doubt that it worked when you did it, but it’s possible the image has become corrupt since then.

you should not mount a volumio image on a windows system.
volumio is a standalone system.
use win32diskimager to put .img file on a usb-stick.
then boot from this stick.
