Yamaha NX-N500 Active Speakers with DSD Asynchronous USB DAC

Hi guys!

Will the NX-N500’s asynchronous USB dac be compatible with the Raspberry Pi 3 B+ using Volumio?

The specs are -

DSD 2.8 MHz / 5.6 MHz
FLAC / WAV / AIFF 384 kHz / 32-bit
Apple Lossless 96 kHz / 24-bit playback
ESS 32-bit D/A converter

USB-DAC Function
The NX-N500 has a high performance USB DAC that supports PCM 384 kHz / 32-bit and DSD 5.6 MHz native resolutions. It is compatible with asynchronous transmission and produces low-jitter by using its own master clock versus using the clock in the PC. It also makes use of an ASIO driver that achieves lower latency and higher throughput.

Will this DAC work with Volumio on a standard Raspberry Pi 3 B+ board via one of its USB ports?

Thanks in advance!

Hi,
I have NX-N500 and Volumio can detect it. I use Raspberry PI 4 with latest Volumio.
I set DSD setting to Native, and it can play DSD64, but for DSD128 (5.6Mhz) audio distortion and clipped.
no problem for FLAC and AAC Lossless. I only have max 96Khz for FLAC and AAC, so I never test for those files (PCM) above 96Khz.
I’m still looking for solution, since the NX-N500 dac can play DSD128 native with Foobar under windows OS+yamaha asio driver.
