Hello,
Intel Broadwell.
I have trouble making audio over HDMI work.
In Settings → playback options → output device there are two option, “HDA Intel HDMI” and “Analog Out”.
I want HDMI audio playback, so I select the first option, but no sound comes out.
‘speaker-test -D hw:0,3 -c 2’ works fine.

Your HDMI sound interface is called “HDA Intel HDMI”, which is missing from the list of card profiles (so far nobody asked for it).
This will need a patch in the Volumio backend.
Meanwhile, if you know how to use an editor in a terminal session,
modify “/volumio/app/plugins/audio_interface/alsa_controller/cards.json”
- copy the line with “Intel HDMI/DP LPE Audio”
- in the copied line, replace “Intel HDMI/DP LPE Audio” by “HDA Intel HDMI”
- reboot

Hi. I came on this forum to find this information. It’s a quite a search to find this. My device did not auto-update (of course, because of the CPU issue), but I only found out about this because Spotify stopped working. Would be nice to add a very small line of text at the downloads to indicate that V3 does not support 32-bit devices anymore. I couldn’t find any “minimum requirements” or something like that.
I’ll try to find a new thin Client, now that my 25-year old thin-client is -at last- obsolete.
what is not clear about "Volumio Audiophile Music Player for PC (X86/X64) on the download page 
Btw. plenty of 64-bit thin clients on the 2nd hand market, e.g. Dell/ HP for a price lower than an RPi 4.

Maybe it’s a definition question, but I read it as X86 and/or X64. Could be me, but I think there might be others who don’t have the definitions / nomenclature clear. Just thought that it could be nice to add a short explanation, that’s all.
I was already looking for a nice X64 ThinClient, prices do seem to have gone up lately. But I’ll find something
