I have an Acer Chromebook c720P, which evidently can be made to run Ubuntu or Bohdi Linux. Will Volumio run on the converted Chromebook?
Simple answer: no.
Comprehensive answer: Volumio could be replicated on your system, installing mpd onto a minimal debian system and then installing the webui. But this will not just be Volumio, because you’ll loose all the low-level system optimizations and custom kernel, which are the one that are really making the deal about sound quality…
But maybe this gives you an impression how it sounds on ubuntu
nevertheless the original volume distro is the best audiophile implementation i ever heard…
