Volumio frequently stops playback in middle of Tidal track

Volumio Information

Volumio Version: v<2.917>
Hardware: Raspberry Pi4 2GB
DAC: Topping D70s MQA

Hi

I use my volumio pi to stream Tidal through Tidal Connect. The pi is connected to wifi and powered through the official raspberry pi 4 power supply. Since the previous version, my volumio regularly stops playing tracks somewhere in the middle (MQA or no MQA). I then cannot access it anymore through volumio.local or through the app.

Installing the new version worked for a while (I remember using it for a whole day without issues), but now the same issue recurrs.

Solutions are sometimes restarting the Pi (through simply unplugging and replugging it - which is probably not the right way to do it), or reflashing the SD. None of these solutions help though. After a while (usually two or even one track later) it will run into the same problem.

What can be the problem? Wifi issues (my chromecast has none though), SD card issues, power supply issues? How can I troubleshoot this?

------Update 25/10
Happened also with Webradio. Restarted the pi and took a log.
Definitely a wifi issue then?

Considering you mention it happens frequently, could your do a log immediately after it happened?
Howto: Send a log
Could be something local, the log would show relevant information

Yeah, waiting for a log also to techsupport at volumio dot org

Could be very useful!

Thanks

VOLUMIO TECH SUPPORT

Thank you very much for getting back to me.

I cannot send the log immediately after, since the problem coincides with not being able to connect to volumio.local. I had volumio.local/dev open while trying it out, but couldn’t send the log after the problem recurred. (It just shows “Sending log, please wait”.)

I anticipated this by keeping a live log. Perhaps this is of some help? It’s me playing a couple of tracks through Tidal Connect before it stopped.

Happened also with Webradio. Restarted the pi and took a log. Added to initial post.
Definitely a wifi issue then?
