Volumio 3 RC1 - Open Beta Testing

The re-introduction of plugins (Spotify, in this case) is an ongoing process for Volumio 3 release candidates. Please bear with the Volumio Team as plugins are checked, to ensure a smooth transition.

Thank you for the info! Didn’t mean to sound like I’m rushing things. I can happily use 2.x version until then. Version 3 does sound like a game changer!

Realized I have USB drive that had some song on it and decided to test it out. I might have discovered a bug in the process.

I can browse through Genres (R&B in this case), but nothing happens if I press play (or clear queue and play) on one of the albums displayed:

If I click on the first album (Alicia Keys) from this view (instead of play), this is the view I get:

This is what happens if I navigate to this album from the Genre menu. If I navigate to this album from the Album menu, the album opens up and can be played normally:

Could you please repeat the log, it needs to be from a fresh reboot immediately after reproducing the problem. The previous one is way too long for us to analyse.

Ver 3.114 , Plugin FusionDsp ver 0.0.8
Log: http://logs.volumio.org/volumiobuster/4UDxH7S.html

When I have the FusionDsp active I have to click two or three times on the radio channel in the queue or the play botton to make it start to play, local/nas files works fine.
If I deactivate the plugin I only need a single click to make a radio channel play

Title: Problem with Qobuz and purchased tracks, when DSP plugin is enabled

I don’t own a Qobuz subscription, but I have bought albums and tracks from Qobuz. To my surprise, I can access and play these purchases in version 3.114, which was unexpected and great!

There is a small problem though: Each track I play from the single tracks I have purchased, stop playing audio abruptly 3-5 seconds before the song ends. Also next song from the queue doesn’t start playing when the previous track ends.

Here is a picture of my queue:

So what happened is that audio of Levitating stopped 3-5 seconds to early. Next song should have been Another One Bites The Dust, but it didn’t start playing.

This happens when I have the DSP plugin enabled. If I disable the DSP plugin, the next song in the queue starts playing as expected.

Does anyone have this issue (in all versions) where tapping the play/pause button sometimes doesn’t register (on tablet touchscreen, in web interface)… like you have to tap it a couple of times for it to play or pause?

Tested today on a `PC on a stick’ - (atom x64 processor with 2gb ram / 30gb sd)
worked out of the box - added the Spotify connect plugin - opened a shared spotify session with my office colleagues - pointed at volumio - worked straight away

Fantastic project !

here it comes…

I just tested Volumio 2.799 on the same machine…same issue - no servers found.

Hi,

I just did setup 2 devices with v3.114.

2 x RaspberryPI 3b
1x Allo Boss clone by Innotech (should be the “sender”
1x Allo Katana (by All
both connected to a proper and low noise (2x 5.05V / 8,5A) double LPS

1.) I was not able to reproduce any issues with WiFi.
I recommend to use DHCP and reserving IP addresses to the MAC addresses of devices on your DHCP serve, which is usually your router - and hopefully one that is able to configure that.
That does make it very easy to address certain devices - e.g.Volumio by knowing their IP address based on the WiFi MAC address. I just put stickers onto the network connector or write it onto

2.)
Is there any hint how to do multiroom ? How to group devices ?

3.)
If switching internet radio stations i have to click the stations twice i hear music

best regards
Josef

You need a Myvolumio superstar subscription enable on each devices in order to use multiroom sync playback. Then an option ‘group device’ is available.

I am logged on with superstar on both devices and both devices are enabled.
At one device “group device” is missing
At the other i only get offered the device itself for grouping if i click “group devices” and not the other.

Try to play something local on each devices. Then try to group.

Thank you - that did the trick
good to know

Let us know how it works for you and how you like it Josh

will you also share with us brand/model of this stick?

currently - i’m connected remote - so i only see the devices are grouped now and don’t hear my speakers.
Will let you know today evening. I’m shure i will like it
