You may be pleased to know, that I’ve just “alpha” tested an upcoming beta/rc1 and it seams the awfully screeching sound from the 3.101 has disappeared. Automatic switch between headphone and speakers also works again. But, this is with an rt5640 codec. You and I may have to work on getting it working on your rt5651 based Intel Atom soc, your help would be appreciated
3.112 works as intended for me. Thanks for Spotify connect. Have not checked multiroom (as this feature is not for me)

There is a new update out, this Release Candidate 1.
We will start the next stage, volumio-3-rc1-open-beta-testing using a new, single thread for RPi, Tinkerboard and X86.
Therefore I’m closing this thread.
Note: There may still be x86-specific issues, like missing support for WiFi devices (onboard or dongles), onboard sound and DAC devices, disk devices etc.
Also, you could encounter boot issues or other problems of which you assume they are x86-related.
These issues are no longer considered beta-related and can occur in the future with new hardware or components.
