Volumio 2.246 hifiberry DAC+ alsa error No sound

Hi there,

Setup:
Pi3, Volumio 2.246 with 7" touchscreen & add-on and Hifiberry DAC+.

Issue:
No audio at all.
Error message appears twice whilst starting any audio.
“Failed to open ALSA device “hw:1,0”: No such file or directory”

tried: Reinstalling, disabling I2S, restart enabling I2S, different audio settings.

Any suggestions welcome.
thanks

Have same issues here, started after update to 2.246, no audio on my hifiberry dac+

Hw = pi2 with hifiberry dac+ aka piFi 2.0, local usb and Cifs mounted NAS music lib

reboot, update, reinstall, i2c off and on, variuos audio settings and hifiberry “variants” still no audio
and in some cases also double alsa errors in the web-console.

update: after some fiddling got the internal audio port working again, but no effort on the dac yet …

Peter

I am just getting started with volumio I also have the same issue - Error message appears twice whilst starting any audio.
“Failed to open ALSA device “hw:1,0”: No such file or directory”

tried: Reinstalling, disabling I2S, restart enabling I2S, different audio settings.

Me too.

It’s a right pain. Is there any support to this?

Thanks.

My too

MY Setup:
VOLUMIO_BUILD_DATE=“Thu Dec 19 15:25:11 CET 2019”
VOLUMIO_VERSION=“2.692”
Pi3B, with 7" touchscreen & add-on and Hifiberry DAC+.
Issue:
No audio at all.
Error message appears twice whilst starting any audio.
“Failed to open ALSA device “hw:1,0”: No such file or directory”

I solved by:
Remove the cables connecting the GIPO SDA screen and SCL. Because the screen GIPO 02 -> SDA and GIPO 04 -> SCL are also used by the card - I2C bus. The touch screen works without problems without these cables. The error no longer occurs after a restart.
