For the moment, in conjunction with HiFiBerry, there is no chance to use the volume “knob” when using AirPlay. Even if the software mixer is set as volume control. So my question is - is this mandatory, or could this be configured, so that the Airplay volume either will be controlled via the volume “knob”?
No, manfred. With Airplay you use the volume of the client application, like iTunes… So you’ll have to act on it for volume control. Or you can use the command
alsamixerbut that’s quite unconfortable, so don’t tell cupertino!
Ok, but is there a chance to map the output of shairplay and mix it with the alsamixer or mpd (via pipe perhaps), so that it might be controlled in use of the volume knob?
