I see that there is a 2.279 version, I have version 2.246 installed. But from the system tells me it’s the latest version available.

You might have seen a developer release. Flashing a new sd will not be the solution as you do have the latest (stable) release.
If you really want to be on the bleeding edge, be warned there could be bugs, you can visit volumio.local/DEV and select the test option. Then return to volumio.local and search for updates.
