Using a network drive

I can mount a CIFS network drive on Volumio2, but I cannot see how to browse it, or scan it for music.

The display of “My Music” is empty, and I have tried “Rescan”.
There is nothing that I can do with the drive listed under “Network Drives”.

When I “Browse”, Favourites, Playlists and Music Library are all empty.

Try to reboot and hit the rescan button

I’ve done that. No result.

Have to say, this software would inspire more confidence if it gave some indication of what it is doing. But it never does.

Case in point: I hit rescan and nothing happens - no indication that it is working, or that it has finished its work. Nothing.

Same comment goes for almost everything that Volumio does. There is no status report, no activity report, no sensible responses to actions on the UI. The only exception is a popup that tells me that a selected Web Radio station is playing. When it isn’t. :frowning:

Could you make a list of the feedbacks you think would be useful?

As per your problem, could you connect via ssh and paste the result of

mpc update

mpc

volumio@muzic:~$ mpc

And sure, I’ll send some ideas about helpful feedbacks.

Now it’s updating the db, so you should see your tracks. Is that right?

It does give feedback, the icon on browse should change and is replaced with a spinner during a scan.

For me it does nothing at all, so I have no clue what’s going on.
