I just signed up for a free trial of Tidal hoping to see if if there audio offered any improvement over Spotify. I use Soptify connect every day on my Volumio enabled RPi’s.
I didnt realise that you have to have the paid version of Volumio to use Tidal.
Is there a way around this or an alternative to Volumio which allows Tidal without having to pay? I’d be more than happy to pay for Volumio (as I have done before) if I could trial it first but if Tidal offered no improvement over Spotify the subscription would be useless to me as I dont need any of the other paid features.
I was happy to pay for superstar to be able to use the analogue input of my DAC + ADC to stream the audio to other Volumio devices but when I tried Volumio 3 it was a disaster and messed everything up so I went back to the older version. I cant be bothered wasting any more time on it and have now given up on the idea of being able to do this.
