Volumio is the best of what it does I’ve been using it since I first got raspi!
I thinks it should be great to handle volumio with app based for either ios , android…
It already has one: volumio.local
Browse to that, then use the ‘share’ button and create a desktop shortcut.

You can use Sound@home wich is a app developped by digx, for Volumio. It allow to configure Volumio and manage several device/ room!
There is a thread on this forum and the Google playstore
Once configured you can also use MPdroid, on google playstore
