I have been using Volumio with Spotify plugin for last few months with no issues. I took out a 3 month trial and all worked fine. It continued to work fine once the 3 month trial expired and I went onto a premium paid account. Since then I have upgraded to Premium Family and the Spotify menu option has disappeared from Volumio.
- I have tried going to Plugins/Installed Plugins/Spotify Settings and clicking Login - this fails with error “Spotify Login Failed - please check username and password”. I am using the numeric account number to login, not email address.
- I have used exact same credentials to login to Spotify website with no issues - I have also double checked once logged in that in my Account, my plan is Spotify Premum Family.
- I’ve also tried resetting my password on Spotify and updating the password in Volumio plugin settings.
- I’ve verified that the username and password are correct in spopd.conf
- I’ve generated the log file from a fresh boot of the Pi and going straight into spotify plugin login - see excerpt from log below - which says user needs a Premium account, but as per above I do have premium family.
- I also tried uninstalling and re-installing the plugin, with no success
Is this an issue with the plugin not recognising premium family accounts, could Spotify have changed or broken their API for premium family accounts? Not sure what the way forward with this is?
