I’ve got volumio going on my old mk1 RPi Model B running through a NAD receiver and temporary Gale bookshelves, and I’m really impressed.
I am thinking of projects to make for other rooms, and one has come up for my daughters’ bedrooms. My idea for each is to use a RPi Model A+ on Wifi and a typically Chinese TPA3116 Mono amplifier both mounted to the back of a repurposed home cinema center speaker. The audio would be perfectly sufficient direct from the 3.5mm jack socket, and lack of stereo not an issue, as they’d just be for a little background music more than serious listening. No doubt I’ll be subjected to pop rubbish on them anyway haha!
What would your thoughts be, guys?
