[Solved] Removing usb hard drive

Hello I’m using 1.41 with wolfson card and a usb hard drive attached.

To add more songs to the drive I want to remove it from time to time.

If I use the shutdown command will it be safe to remove it or do I also need to unplug the pi?

After shutdown it should be safe to unplug a usb drive, make sure that the os is completely shutdown and not running to shutdown. If you plug the usb drive back in before booting the library should still be populated.

ok thanks - and to get it back up - I plug in the usb drive then unplug and replug in the pi?

Yes, after replugging you need to repower the pi. So either unplug/plug the power supply or use that p6 header if it works (dont have a rev2)
