Raspbian and Volumio

no problem! nobody is born with knowledge, life it’s a continuous learning process.

those subjects are not easy at all, I thought it’s better to clarify when possible, to avoid confusion

i learned it many years a go but after a year of 20 the info will be mixed some how and more is added
and still learning more every day i was windows based and now learning linux is many steps back
but i’m still going and i was a it specialist  but i didn’t need the info in all those years … but know how it was but needed to get it back from 20 years ago lol

When you write the Volumio image to your SD card, you’re overwriting the card, so any data that was on the card is wiped.

Radio Paradise is not necessary for FLAC playback.

You can store your music on a USB stick, the SD card, or on a NAS. You can playback from anywhere.
Volumio or any music streamer. Use a 1 or 2 GB RPi or even a ZeroW. I have a ZeroW with a Pimoroni Pirate Line out HAT running and a RPi 4 2GB with a generic I2S DAC and Volumio works on both.

Ah, i see I worded that poorly.
I meant to say that, to get Radio Paradise to play in Flac quality, you need to download the plug in.

Thank you for responding though.
I do have music on a usb stick on my 3b+.

But actually, for some reason I haven’t put volumio on the zero(w) in the garage, thanks for mentioning that.
I wonder if the wifi signal reaches out there.
Guess what i am about to do

I do need to look at NAS. That makes a lot of sense.

on volumio can I install background services like openvpn or pihole? accessing by ssh as if a normal raspbian were?

Yes you can but that isn’t supported. But please stay on topic and make your own own topic if needed.
