what kind of issues you have with volumio? youtube is working fine for me.
it jumps tracks like 1 3 5 7 9 and it cuts the songs while playing at 3/4 of a song …very irri…
and after using it … youtube plugin switches off ( not reading any more and empty lists ) if i put it on/off it will get back …
that happens also with the version of volumio that i m using?
mine with this version and the youtube 0.1.0 plus the update of the core. works fine. the issue that you are describing was happening at the past that you had to install an older version of mpd. but running the update of the core it should be fine now.
all is updated core is updated (mdp latest 5.6.0 ), node.js is updated 8.11.1…and youtube plugin 1.0.1 volumio ver 2.729
maybe try 0.1.0 version of youtube? mine is working fine.
that one worked less with me … that’s why i switched to the other one…

@sla89 @pintea youtube-20191224.zip plays well but needs a check…
still have a problem with the plugin that it plays a few songs and stops on 6 sec
it seems it didn’t fetch the song and hangs… on both my sparky and pi4 …
so it seems that it should have a check if not loaded fetch again …and start over …
Does anyone knows how to manually remove the YouTube plugin v. 0.1.0?
After uninstall the icon remains on the start-page, leading nowhere.
try installing again and remove it again most of the time that works other wise i have to look where it’s included in the file… i never had it that it doesn’t uninstalled without removing it
only if you uninstall a running plugin so first switch it off then uninstall…

P.s. Even disabled, it is still being shown on the main page. Hence there is a leftover entry somewhere that needs to be fixed manually.

/data/plugins/music_service/
remove the whole youtube folder if there is some left …
reboot and it should be gone…

rm -r /data/plugins/music_service/youtube && reboot

I’m new here. I want to install the Youtube plugin. I’m trying to figure out the the correct file to download and the correct steps to install the plugin. I’m a little confused going through the posts.
I already have a Youtube API creds but I’m not sure which Youtube plugin file to use and the steps to install. Can anyone help?
