Hello, i am planning to build new player based on Raspberry Pi and Hifiberry DAC HD. I would like to add rotary encoder to control Play Stop and Volume. It should be OK. But i would like also add extra analog VU meter with extra driver board.
Now is the question : I want to switch this VU meter off when player is stopped and on when started. I would use some solid state relay, but i dont know how to control it from GPIO. Does anybody know ?

Look up the Amplifier switch plugin that lets you do exactly that
