Oled User Inteface for Volumio with Rotary and 4 Buttons, modular, highly, configurable supports ssd1306 and ssd1322

Hi everyone, I created a small survey about my code:

I would appreciate it very much if you guys would answer this survey!
Thanks a lot!

@Maschine2501 This looks perfect for my kitchen radio project and I would love to try it out, but I haven’t been able to install the required python version. I’m still fairly new to using linux so I searched for a guide and found your(?) guide on stack exchange..
Following this I got as far as this command.

echo "/home/volumio/src/openssl-1.1.1b/lib" >> /etc/ld.so.conf.d

with this result.

-bash: /etc/ld.so.conf.d: Is a directory

Some more searching suggested that the second part might be.

/etc/ld.so.conf.d/openssl.conf

But that gave me a permission denied message, even when using with sudo.
So now I’m asking for help here. Is there something missing in the instruction or am I missing something?

Hi,
why do you try to install python with my tutorial on stack exchange?
To sort things out:
You want to run NR1-UI with volumio, right?
If so:
Just follow this two instructions:

  1. 1st Part
  2. 2nd Part
With this, python 3.8.5 will be installed during setup process autamaticly.

After Installation you can launch python3.8.5 with:
/home/volumio/src/Python-3.8.5/bin/python3.8
and PIP3.8
/home/volumio/src/Python-3.8.5/bin/pip3.8

Otherwise, please explain something about your usecase…

Well, that makes it a lot easier! :slightly_smiling_face:

Yes, I would like to run NR1-UI with Volumio.
Actually, it was the title on the page in your second link that made me try to install Python.
Specifically the for Python 3.8.5… part of the title. That led me to believe that I had to have this Python version installed before installing NR1-UI.

Thank you for sorting it out! And thanks for making this nice software available to all of us.

Hi Folks!
I want to announce a new Version of NR1-UI!
This Version should be way more stable, espacially when using Spectrum/Cava.
And:
Color Displays (ssd1351 and st7735) are now supported too!

If you want to test it: Remember to make a clean Volumio Installation first!

Future Notice: As soon as Volumio3 is ready, the installation time of NR1-UI will be reduced to ~5-10 Minutes  //Can’t wait for it ^^

May I kindly ask you to take part in a little Survey I made?
->I hope this helps me to improve the code for everyone

Dear Maschine2501,

i’m just getting to your project in the last few day’s and getting realy exided about it. It is realy the ideal player for my marantz na6005. The marantz had a oled display that died. It also took out the 3.3V as well.
Marantz also did an update of the firmware that disabled all radio channes. you now have to buy a subscription to a payed service. :rage:
After seeing your project i want to fix the NA6005.
The NA6005 has a DAC that i can connect to the RPI4.
for the service manual just look for : Marantz-NA-6005-Service-Manual.pdf

i just have to alter the buttons as well, and use the 3.1 inch oled 1322 that i bought and i will have a better player.
It will take time to get it all done, but it will be a fun project. If you or ennyone is intrested let me know.
