FOUND: mpd_oled found in /usr/bin
No conflicts found: mpd_oled is installed only in /usr

No errors, just reboot and configure. Should work, as it did with my setup.

I just rebooted but the plugin is not in the list…

please refresh your browsers cache (Chrome CTRL+F5)

Does not appear…

Do you have any other plugins installed?
Did you follow all steps, as I am very surprised that the plugin does not appear.

  • Installed run from the zip files given by Balbuse
  • Run the script as given by me
  • Reboot
  • Configure settings
  • volumio vrestart

Understood now, I have removed the a Plugin from balbuze… I will try now

No, first copy the unzipped folder from Balbuze to your home folder
go to that folder and run
volumio plugin install
When ready:
volumio vrestart
When ready
sudo bash mpd_oled_volumio_install_latest.sh
When ready
sudo reboot

Many thanks

@Wheaten
So I did things in the wrong order. I first ran the bash script, and then I realized I needed to install the MPD Oled zip first.

So I did that, then re-ran the bash script, rebooted, configured settings, and now the mpd_oled screen isn’t working. :man_facepalming:

Is there an easy way to remove everything mpd_oled related and start over without reformatting the SD card and starting over?

you can try to uninstall the plugin from the plugin page.
If that is not working, I should start from a fresh flash, to avoid issues. (risk of installing un-official released plugins)

Alright, so for some reason mpd_oled keeps sending getState commands when it’s enabled, which overloads my Rpi4, eventually causing Spotify Connect streams to abruptly stop after a few minutes. The only way to prevent this from happening is to turn off the mpd_oled plugin on the Plugins page.

Logs:
http://logs.volumio.org/volumio/0XI1CBF.html

Is there a way to prevent mpd_oled from constantly polling the system?

Not that I am aware of, it’s doing the same on my system.
Keep in mind that MPD_OLED is an unofficial plugin for V3. Since I am not using Spotify-connect I don’t have problems with it.
Maybe @Balbuze or @supercrab have suggestions

I installed balbuze’s zip for Volumio 3, but I’m getting the following error:

image

Edit: The plugin installs just fine, it’s only when I try to save the settings in the plugin that I get the error. And of course the screen isn’t working.

have run:

sudo dpkg-reconfigure tzdata
wget -N http://pitastic.com/mpd_oled/packages/mpd_oled_volumio_install_latest.sh
sudo bash mpd_oled_volumio_install_latest.sh
