cat /dev/input/event0 doesn’t detect anything

still shows “40-libinput.conf”. After renaming it to “40-libinput.conf.bak” reboot.

because I changed it back.
But now I did it again.

I am not sure you are using the correct overlay file. Could you post pictures of the display’s PCB (front and back)?

Thanks, according to this the MHS-3.5 is a clone of the Waveshare 3.5inch RPi LCD (C).

Maybe try out the Waveshare overlay (on your own risk :wink: ):

wget https://github.com/waveshare/LCD-show/raw/master/waveshare35c-overlay.dtb

sudo cp waveshare35c-overlay.dtb /boot/overlays/waveshare35c-overlay.dtbo

In /boot/userconfig.txt change

dtoverlay=mhs35:rotate=90

to

dtoverlay=waveshare35c:rotate=90

Edit: Corrected download address for Waveshare overlay.

It could be, it was a cheap aliexpress screen I once bought. I will test it!

waveshare35c-overlay.dtb isn’t on the page of https://github.com/goodtft/LCD-show/raw/master/usr/

but I found it!

Sorry, my bad… I have corrected the download address.

Do you have the chance to test if touch works with e.g. Raspberry Pi OS?

Before doing that maybe try removing the options "EmulateThirdButton… from “/etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/99-calibration.conf”.

I’m testing it now, but it worked in the past, I guess yesterday I did a test to make sure it works.

it doesn’t work with a new Raspberry Pi OS, going to test an old one.
It says something about the evdev
