Media Server : serviio

Hi,

I discovered on my volumio (version: 2,688) that a media server is installed by default : serviio - https://serviio.org/.

Questions:

  • What is the purpose of this application ? To act as a player or server ?
  • Can we then listen music from other devices (= iphone, android GSM) if they use ServiioDroid application ? Or that works in other way around ?
  • Can you document that please ?

Forget my question. A serviio server was running on my macbook and discovered by volumio :wink:
