Making "Library Scan" optional

Hi, new user here. I’ve been using Daphile for years, and wanted to try something more good-looking (and hopefully better sounding) alternative.

There’s a suggestion i want to make. I have an 8TB hard drive which has almost 6000 albums in it. And it automatically scans whole drive which would take AGES to complete, because my pc is a 2009 Mac Mini which has ancient CPU and USB 2.0. Also, i usually use folder browsing when i’m listening to music, so i don’t need library scanning.

So if possible, please add a feature that could make library scanning “optional”. Thanks for the great app!

That would make things better. l love the sound quality of Volumio 3 but it’s access times,if your listening to music and then looking for though your files for another track is slow, with delays up to 8 seconds…
Something that Daphile doesn’t suffer from, as you mentioned, it would be great if they could speed up access of local files.
