Started using Volumio last year wanting to try streaming audio. Am a long time analog freak and my music system before streaming consisted of a Thorens record player and a tube amplified CD player called the AH! Njoe Tjoeb. Went out to buy a nice DAC in the form of the Musical Fidelity M1 DAC and tried it for a while using my MacBook as source. Then realized I still had an unused Raspberry Pi and installed Volumio on it. Works and sounds very well, perhaps even better than my CD player.
Upgraded to 2 last week and this adds a better UI and volume control from the web UI. I typically use mPod on my iPhone for selection of songs. The source is a synology NAS. Compliments to the Volumio team for a really nice solution!
