It depends if you prefer a slightly bigger screen or if you prefer to save some money.

Yes…
I see that osoyoo is tft and waveshare is ips,
It will matter on this size? What is the most performant in terms of quality, resolution etc… View the artist image etc.
Thanks in advance

You just need to install the Touch Display plugin, no driver required.
Be aware that there is possibly a problem switching off the backlight when the display is rotated by 90 or 270 deg. as reported by @buma
Hello there, new to the board, but not to Volumio.
I built a stand-alone headphone music server with a Raspberry Pi 4 and a DSI monitor (WaveShare 4.3" capacitive touch display ) using the latest build of Volumio (2.917) and the Touch Display plugin (1.3.0), and no other plugins. Everything works just fine except for the Screensaver Setting - it won’t turn off.
This was a rebuild of an earlier project using the same RPi but with a different screen. The screensaver worked fine on the older scr…
and confirmed by @michel8166
set to 90 degrees and now the problem is also present, it does not turn off, the screen flickers 2x briefly, so it does make an attempt to go out, but it does not go through.
by the way the touch is at 90 degrees outline.
I also tried 270 degrees, same problem. then there is indeed a difference compared to the Raspberry Pi Foundation touchscreen.
Shame.
got to test it a little earlier.
okay a fresh install of volumio2 on a raspberry pi 3b version 1.2.
touchscreen set to 90 degrees and 20 seconds timeout and no screensaver on.
and here also the same problem after 20 seconds the screen dims slightly also at 270 degrees it does not work.
only difference is that now the touch is good.

Waveshare suggested a hardware modification to solve the issue:
I don’t know if this works and if Waveshare has done this themselves on the current PCB layout.

Will it work perfectly? I can’t comment on that display as I don’t own one, but the following can be noted:
In contrast to the DSI display you will have to SSH into Volumio and modify the file “/boot/userconfig.txt”.
Also the HDMI display does not support adjusting the display brightness by software (but it seems to provide an OSD menu to set brightness).

If you are still looking for pictures of the display, forum search helps :
beautiful old ess es9018 dac including cabinet for little money.
took the khadas and touchscreen out of that Woody cabinet and built it in here.
nice all in one, music via khadas/volumio and the ess es9018 dac for tv/mac and pc.
i2s raspberry pi via volumio and the ess es9018 also works fine.

Made another streamer last week, now for my brother-in-law.
if you want to build it, below are the parts used for this project.
more photos are below.

a bit of soldering experience is a must.
I did the cutout for the 4.3 inch SDI touch screen by hand, it is best to do this with a CNC machine.
see last photo how I secured/screwed this.
for the external 5volt for the khadas I use Solution 2 (warranty valid): , see link. https://www.khadas.com/post/tone-1-separating-da…
