Raspberry Pi 3.
Dac: AUDIOPHONICS I-SABRE AMP DAC ES9023 equivalent to Hifiberry DAC.
Kodi detects the DAC but does not output any sound. The start sound is deactivated as shown and the audio output device is set to “ALSA: Default (bcm2835 ALSA bcm 2835 ALSA)” in Kodi.
check the number of your card with the command “aplay -l”, in my case the dac was considered as “card 1”;
enter the command “sudo nano /usr/share/alsa/alsa. conf”;
search the lines defaults.ctl.card 0
defaults.pcm.card 0
and change 0 to the number of your card, which gives in my case: defaults.ctl.card 1
defaults.pcm.card 1
Ctrl+X, y, enter, enter to save changes;
Now, restart your pi with the reboot command or by Volumio and the sound works!
