Justboom-raspberry volumio not appearing in wi-fi

Hi,
As a newbe i have bought a raspberry 3b+ and justboom digi hat and installed latest version of Volumio.
From my laptop i can access the server. In Settings i can see that the server has connected to my wireless network. However, on my mobile it does not show in the Available networks list !

  • ssids are not hidden
  • i set the 2.4GHz to channel 4 in my router.
    In Volumio settings:
  • wireless networking = on
  • automatic ip = on
  • hotspot settings = off
  • dns settings = off
I have been trying for hours now, but i seem to be missing something, who can help ?
    Thanks,
    Peter.

Put your phone in Airplane Mode
Put your phone back to normal mode
Look in Settings, Wi-Fi on your phone, is your network visible now?
What if you turn off mobile data temporarily and try to connect to the wi-fi?
Is your phone quite old or something, and can’t do the newer wi-fi network connections?
Can your router do the older 802.11g or something as well?

Thanks for the reply.
No, airplane toggle does not help
No, mobile data toggle does not help
No, phone is quite new, Galaxy A40
No problem with 11g, is also supported by the ZTE router.

Also switching wifi on/off does not work, only neighbour networks are visible.

Other suggestions ?

Hmmm, seems weird.

Again, no result.
Now i am going to remove the justboom addon and check the bare raspberrypi.
An IP scanner shows that Volumio is present with details:
IP:192.168.2.4 ; Ping:1 ms ; Hostname:volumio.home ; Ports:80
When signed int the raspberry, ipconfig shows this:
wlan0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr xxxx
inet addr:192.168.2.4 Bcast:192.168.2.255 Mask:255.255.255.0
UP BROADCAST RUNNING MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1
RX packets:7774 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0
TX packets:2571 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0
collisions:0 txqueuelen:1000
RX bytes:1671427 (1.5 MiB) TX bytes:1465810 (1.3 MiB)

From the raspberry i can ping to 8.8.8.8 and als to my laptop.
So all seems fine, right ?
So why does the wifi connection not show up on my android mobile ?
It also does not show on my partners iphone.
What am i missing here ?

Thanks,
Peter.

I may be missing something here, but why are you expecting it to appear as a wifi node?, it’s connected to your access point and getting an ip address?

I think he is saying he can’t get his or his partners phone to connect to his home wi-fi and therefore they can’t see his Volumio at all from a phone.

Is your router or wireless access point running the latest firmware?
Is your router or wireless access point set to allow new devices, has it run out of DHCP pool addresses, is it set to allow only listed MAC addresses?
Is your phone on the latest version of Android?
Is your phone set to allow network discovery?

According to Volumio manual the hotspot should appear on my mobile for first connect.
I have re-flashed the software and found that the network appears, but later disappears again.
No clue why, but after reflashing sd cardioloog this problemen solvent itself.

Thanks all.

The hotspot is just for the initial configuration. Once you connect the Volumio to your network, it goes off.
