What jhscann said. I don’t think you’re going to get the quality you want out of a laptop without a DAC. Here’s a post about my very-minimal system (Turning my old speakers into music: Pi Zero and a tiny amp), which would work better and sound better than what you have. To make it better than this system upgrade to a better pi and a better DAC (or install a hat).
