Hifiberry dac pro interfering with Raspi 3 wireless?

So, I’m not sure if I have a Volumio problem or a hardware problem. I have a fresh install of Volumio on a Rpi3 with a Hifiberry Dac Pro.
I use this same dac on my Rpi2 (which uses a Ralink wifi dongle).
I can connect via wifi using the Rpi3 from the other end of my house when I’m not using the DAC. When I do use the DAC, I have to be in the same room before I can connect to my Wifi network.
Has anyone else encountered this problem? If so, can it be solved?

Yes, this is a known bug, see here: github.com/raspberrypi/linux/issues/1588

The last posts there indicate that it might be a hardware issue.
I currently use a WiFi dongle to circumvent this bug.
