Hi guys, very nice coming to the forum. I am leafy because my family name in the Chinese language means “leaf” and I have been using it for decades since my teen days.
Been using a pair of Sennheiser HD650 since 2004, recently paired it up with Schiit Jotunheim and revitalized my interest in music (mostly classical and traditional Chinese music, redbook collection around 1K pieces).
When I started searching for the “modern” source, I came to realize that many people nowadays don’t use a spindle anymore, but instead rely on digital players whether that reads lossless files or network streaming services. This is when I ran across the RPi and Hifiberry DAC+. Tried Runeaudio from my friends’ recommendations but settled on Volumio for it’s openness and detailed documentations both for users and developers.
I do hope to learn more about the system and try to contribute to the project.
