Hi from NL, NUC with spdif

Hi from NL,
Got a NUC with an optical out (mini Toslink) connected to NAD C328. My experience so far:

The Good:

  • works great
  • easy to use
  • great web radio selection
  • open source

What could be improved:

  • very old base distro (Debian Jessie) so no support for my built in wifi (using an old USB wifi thingy I had laying around anyway now)
  • Albums with different artist show up as different albums
  • had to unmute spdif myself with Alsamixer (not a big deal once you know this needs to be done)
  • could use a way to expose a smb or NFS share so I can easily dump files on the disk. (maybe this is already a feature that I’ve so far missed)

All in all, kudos. I’ll be using this as my music player now.

Hi,
Depending on the age of your NUC, you may want to try this pre-buster version (from usb to start with):
volumiobuster-2.857 with better support for newer hardware.

met vriendelijke groet

Thanks, I’ll try that!
