HDMI out on Rpi2 shows Linux console, how to show UI instead?

I just burnt volumio v2.873 on a Rapi 2 and hooked it up to my AVR and TV via HDMI (no DAC, the AVR is my DAC)

When I turn the TV on, it shows the HDMI out from Volumio. But instead of the Volumio UI (currently playing, etc), it shows me the Linux console (with the login prompt)

I tried installing the Touchscreen plugin, but same thing: it shows the text console.

How do I get Volumio to show its UI over HDMI? Bonus points if I can also make CEC work with it.

Hi xola, welcome to Volumio.

Volumio was designed primarily as a “headerless” audio player. That is to say the GUI is reached through a mobile phone, a tablet, or any other browser-capable device running on your network.

Have a read of the Quick Start Guide …

It should be possible to use the Touchscreen plugin, as you have tried, to get hdmi output to a tv … have a Google, or here’s an oldish thread to get you going.

Thanks. It looks like it worked after all but my SD card is way too slow so installing the touchscreen plugin takes 10–15 min… after that it works.

I’m going to clone that older, smaller card to a larger, newer one.

Many thanks.
I just upgraded Touch Display to version 1.3.0 and it worked after reboot.
