Hard dive not recognized

Hello all,

I am having difficulty with Volumio (Raspberry Pi 3) not recognizing my external Powered USB hard drive.

Volumio sees my 500 GB NTFS portable USB drive without any problems, and does not need any external power or powered USB hub to see it.

However, it will not recognize my 2 TB desktop powered USB-2 hard drive (also NTFS). I would like to use this drive as my primary music source, but this is proving to be very frustrating.

A similar R-Pi setup using Rune sees this drive without any problem, but I prefer Volumio for its I2S capabilities.

Is there a maximum partition size or other problem that I’m missing?

Thanks.

Update:

Connected a monitor and watched the console. I’m getting these messages:

usb 1-1.5: New USB device found, idVendor=4971, idProduct=8009
usb 1-1.5: New USB device strings: Mfr=10, Product=11, SerialNumber=3
usb 1-1.5: Product: G-DRIVE
usb 1-1.5: Manufacturer: G-TECH
usb 1-1.5: SerialNumber: FA01229001DC5
usb 1-1.5: can’t set config#1, error -71
usb 1-1.5: USB disconnect, device number 91

It appears that it recognizes the drive but goes no further. Any ideas?
