Galaxy S6 (Chrome) cannot resolve hostname

I can access volumio/ or volumio.local/ from both wired and wired devices on my network (desktop and laptop)… but I get ‘host cannot be resolved’ when browsing from my phone (Galaxy S6, Android 5.1.1, Chrome 48.0.2564.95). I can successfully connect using the IP though. I don’t have any other phone to try with right now. Any ideas here?

I’d really like to be able to have the phone resolve, so anyone who visits can just get on my network and connect to volumio/ to control music.

This is normal, Android can not handle Zeroconf/Bonjour host name resolution without any third parties addons.
You will have to use the IP address.
