The Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 USB DAC works just fine with Volumio. I have used this DAC on Cubox-i 4Pro and Raspberry Pi. It has excellent performance, 24-bit / up to 96 KHz. From MPD Configuration choose “USB” and it just works.
Can I ask you what is your complete setup? I just tried with Raspberry Pi, Wifi dongle and Focusrite Scarlett 2i2.
I make some tests with Dlna server and Flac in Ram disk but same results, sometimes I hear the little discontinous in the music and I don’t understand what’s the reason.

The Scarlett Focusrite is recognized as USB device. You can select it as output device.
But there is no sound.
Anybody can help?
