File browser and manual adding to library

RasPi 3 Model B Rev 1.2 with Volumio 3.179 with HifiBerry Digi+ Pro 2017 connected by WLAN 2,4GHz.

I connected/attached to Raspi on port USB a TOSHIBA External USB 3.0 Max3200 hard disk with two partitions with NTFS with a somehow confusing file structure. The partitions/files are scanned/examined by Volumio but the library is never finished.

Is there an normal/usual file browser in Volumio3 available for browsing files manually and adding them manually to a/the library?

Is it possible to deactivate automatic file browsing/examination and do it manually only?

Sorry, there is no file browser frontend to allow the manual adding of files to the library, and consequently no way to deactivate the normal behaviour.

You will need to have a look at your USB drive. I would have thought (but have never tried) that two partitions wouldn’t affect the scanning process … what do you see in your music library from the GUI? Is most of your audio present? Do you have non-audio material on there, or zipped files, which mpd may well not want to index?

You could also include the link to the log file here, which might pinpoint the problem.

Would you share some system logs please?

Preferable from a fresh reboot, with minimal steps to reproduce the problem :slight_smile:
